2010 Ballot Initiatives

Ruth Said:

If Prop 8 in CA passes and ends gay marriage, can the people pass another amendment in 2010 to relegalize it?

We Answered:

Ok yeah they can, because of the way our government is set up in California, if we get enough signatures we can make a proposition no matter how many times its shot down people will keep trying to pass this prop(or any huge prop for that matter.think the abortion prop.....remember last election(06 for governator) a prop about telling parents about their kids abortions, failed and the exact same one is appearing on the ballot this time. oh and by the way, allowing gay marriage has NOTHING to do with how they will teach children about marriage in schools, ok?(janice)
the reason its such a big deal now is that gay marriage is legal and the governator has said that he won't do anything to change their legal rights now. the big deal is that if this prop is passes then the gay marriages conducted during the time it was legal will remain so, but will close off any chance for others to get married after.

Lisa Said:

Are ballot initiatives possible in Pennsylvania?

We Answered:

Im not sure. I live in PA and here in Pittsburgh, they tried to get something on the ballot, I think it was about the drink tax. In other words, putting it to the voters if they wanted this proposed drink tax. It didnt work. Instead, they went to court. All the details, I dont know. But I do know it didnt work.

Bill Said:

What is the likelyhood that a repeal of prop 8 will appear on the 2010 ballot?

We Answered:

hopefully in 2010.

Ashley Said:

Question for opponents of gay marriage?

We Answered:

I consider this to be a State's Rights issue. So, if the people on Colorado want to vote on this, then go right ahead.

Kenneth Said:

Is it possible to phase out nuns by 2010 by ballot initiative?

We Answered:

Go back to where your ancestors came from. The Founding Fathers fought for religious freedom.

Get out of this nation before sundown.
