Absentee Ballot Connecticut

Milton Said:

Can I register to vote in two different states?

We Answered:

The fact is, there is no cross-check between the states. This was discovered during the election of 2000 when many people who voted in Florida had also voted by absentee in Illinois.

It's up to integrity and personal honor whether you will obey the laws and not double vote. In my personal opinion, this gives an unfair advantage to the party that sees "it all depends on what the definition of "is" is" as a justifiable answer in court. Or who feels it's okay that Teddy Kennedy was never charged with murder or manslaughter.

Lauren Said:

When is the last date for casting an absentee ballot in Connecticut?

We Answered:

Here ya' go

Registered voters can obtain applications for absentee ballots from their local Town Clerk or Registrar of Voters. If the voter is already out of town, application forms can be mailed to them as long as sufficient time is allowed for round-trip mailings of the application and the ballot. Applications in English or Spanish can also be downloaded from the website of the Connecticut Secretary of the State: (www.sots.ct.gov/ElectionsServices/Elecf… Absentee ballots are available beginning 31 days before an election, 21 days before a primary, or 19 days before a referendum upon receipt of an application.

Absentee ballots and applications must be received by the poll closing time of the day of the election, primary or referendum or they will not be counted.
