Gabriel Said:
Why is the main stream media, both right and left, falsely reporting there is an anti incumbent movement? We Answered:
The media today spends too much time speculating at the expense of just reporting. Of course, you can't easily complain about that because the stations that speculate the most are MSNBC and Fox and both of them have the highest ratings of the news channels. People obviously want speculation over reporting or those stations would be failing. Its sad but true and when you are in the business of speculating that means you have to compete with other speculators which leads to hyperbole and exaggeration for the sake of drama. Take the healthcare reform bill for example, the media reported it as dead months before the vote. What happened? It passed. The same can be said for the city of New Orleans after Katrina, the media reprorted that it would no longer exist... the city is thriving today. The end of incumbents? Whatever.
This seems to be what the people want from the news. They want dramatic over-specualtion and the more succesful channels are giving it to us. I can't bame the media any more than I can blame the everyday Joe.
