Ballot Paper Australia

Seth Said:

Why does the myth 'It is compulsory to vote in Australia" continue when it's not?

We Answered:

You are absolutely correct, you only have to have your name crossed off. I however don't want someone else deciding for me, so I make my vote count.

Carlos Said:

Cecil Said:

Why do we vote using pencils to complete ballot papers in Australia?

We Answered:

Good question ........maybe they don't trust us with pens or Crayons ?

Jennifer Said:

How about we all mark our ballot paper in INK pen, Australia?

We Answered:

"The AEC are required by law to provide pencils in polling booths. Pencils don't run out, they can be stored between elections and they work better in tropical areas. You can use either a pen or a pencil. The security of your vote is guaranteed as the storage and counting of ballots are tightly scrutinised."
