Gay marriage should be legal because marriage is about love. Note how hard it is to find love these days...why would you spend millions promoting hate?

What's wrong with gay marriage?
1. "It violates religion"
It's their 1st amendment right to practice different religious beliefs. We are a country of multiple religions you know. And 12% of the nation is non-religious.

2. "It's untraditional"
If we followed tradition, blacks would be slaves & women would be property.

3. "It's unnatural"
Says who?
It's widely accepted that orientation comes at birth, and that makes it natural.

4. "It will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior like people marrying their pets"
In order to get married, you must have a legal standing & be able to consciously agree to marry someone.
Pets can not consciously agree to that, and they do not have a legal standing.

5. "Gays can't have children"
-neither can infertile people & old people, but they are still allowed to marry
-marriage isn't about children; many single people raise kids, and many married people don't have kids
-if there's one thing the world doesn't need, it's more children to feed

And why? Because it won't stop teens from having sex. There still would be teen pregnancy.
However, I don't condone teen sex and pregnancy. I don't like hearing about teens getting pregnant. I don't want them getting abortions either.
Frankly, I don't want anyone getting abortions. I don't think they are 100% safe and I do think it is ending a life.
As for the consent, I do want teens to tell their parents that they are pregnant. I do think parents should have to consent. Abortions are serious, and most teen are in no possition to make a serious dession.
However, and this is the BIG however. Once, it is made madatory for girls to notify parents, there will still be teens who seek services at uncertified and dangerous places.

What if our teens drive off with their boy friend to another state seeking an abortion. You don't know where they are? How scary is that?
Not every girl has the loving and secure home that will support her and understand. What about the girls that are raped by relatives. I know it is grimm, but it happens! Do you think abusive parents will sign the form?

Regaurdless of the choice, abortions in teens will still occur. Voting No, will lower the numbers of teens seeking "back alley abortionists"
Of course I would want to know if my daughter was getting an abortion. Honestly, I would not let her.
But I fear for the girl whose parents would abuse her if they found out she was pregnant. Or the girl who is to afraid to tell mom and dad, so she heads to another state or to a Back alley abortionsit.
Yes, these cases are rarer and extreme. But I feel it is the lesser of two evils.

Its a terrible law and I am glad it didn't pass. Does no one learn the lessons of the past? Before minors were allowed to have abortions without parental consent, girls were getting them in "back alleys". This lead to massive infection, perforated uteruses, severe uterine scarring, etc. Girls were ending up sterile, or worse yet, dead. Girls were also more prone to hiding their pregnancies and killing the babies after bearing them, or abandoning them.
