Ballot That Would
Willie Said:
How many states would vote to en-act Jim Crow laws if it were on the ballot? We Answered:
Don't you mean "re-instate"?I wouldn't be surprised if there were states that wanted to bring Jim Crow Laws back, but I would be surprised and even angered if they were successful...
Kay Said:
If a bill was on the ballot to lower the age of consent would you vote yes or no?We Answered:
In most States, it is 16, sometimes with age gap provisions... some States have it at 18... I believe it is a State's Rights issue, and that the current ages are fine for the States as they have chosen. I would not personally vote to lower AOC in my State, which is 16, we have a high enough teen-aged pregnancy rate as it is.Currently, it is
18 in 12 States
17 in 9 States
16 in 29 States
16 per the UCMJ for Military http://www.ageofconsent.com/military.htm
16 for Traveling US Citizens per USCODE with many restrictions, and in some cases it is lower than 16 http://www.ageofconsent.com/uscitizens.h…
Joel Said:
How do citizens get something on ballot that would have national impact? We Answered:
You've got it backwards. Originally, President Obama said that he wanted all citizens to have access to the same health care plan that senators and representatives have. Wouldn't that be better? But, no; the c0nservatives scared the crap out of everyone about the plan, and now we're stuck with a half-baked alternative.Myrtle Said:
If on the 012 ballot a amendment was added that would require a separate camera view of whats on?We Answered:
I think so.Joshua Said:
Why would not Democrats put on the ballot Hillary Clinton instead of Barack Obama in several key states? We Answered:
There is only one candidate per party. That is the function of the primaries, to determine who will be the party's candidate. Obama beat Hillary and is the Democrat candidate.Hillary lost and since she wasn't picked by Obama as his VP, she has no official position in the election. As we like to say, she got whipped like a rented mule. :)
Morris Said:
How would conservatives feel if the majority passed a ballot proposition to limit families to only one child? We Answered:
I would be against it 100%, and expect a judge would find it unconstitutional.Ernest Said:
Would you vote for a ballot measure to do away with anchor babies? We Answered:
Indeed. The problem here is that this was something that was wrongly interpreted by judges and has turned into a defacto law.It is not constitutionally correct to have a person merely born on US soil be a US citizen. It should be a child born to US Parents (or at least one parent) born on US Soil.
And to the first poster, States rights SHOULD supersede the federal government. Not the other way around. Read the Constitution. NO WHERE does it state that the federal government supersedes the states rights.
The constitution does not grant rights it is a guarantee that the government will not usurp the rights of the people.
