Can someone "dumb down" the 2010 California Prop ballot? We Answered:
Prop 19- Voting yes will legalize marijuana and allow it to be taxedProp 20- Voting yes will allow a bi-partisan committee to redraw district lines (compared to the state legislature redrawing them)
Prop 21- Increases the vehicle license fee by 18 dollars to fund state parks
Prop 22- Voting yes means State government prohibited from taking designated types of local fund (such as hotel and local sales taxes)
Prop 23- Voting yes suspends AB 32, the "Global Warming Solutions Act" until unemployment falls below 5.5% for a year
Prop 24- Eliminates three business tax breaks
Prop 25- Budget and related legislation can be passed with simple majority, rather than current 2/3rds requirement
Prop 26- Requires a 2/3 supermajority vote in the legislature to pass certain state and local fees
Prop 27- Return task of redistricting to the California State Legislature (repealing Prop 11)
(competing with prop 20, the prop (20 or 27) with the most votes wins)
Brad Said:
Does anyone think that gay marriage will be on the 2010 ballot in California? We Answered:
As much as I want prop 8 overturned, losing in 2010 would be disastrous...I think we should wait until 2012. The demographics are on our side. The average 18 year old entering the electorate is like 80% likely to support gay marriage while the average senior that dies is probably only like 20%... just the way things are.
