California Election Ballot
Deborah Said:
How can I make my petition appear on the election ballot? We Answered:
You have to get the petition approved by the state of California. They have to be worded right plus be legal. Once that is done you have to collect the number of signatures and turn them in by a deadline. Once they are verified, your idea will be placed on the ballot.Joann Said:
what propositions are going to be on the ballot in June for the election in California? We Answered:
13 thru 17; see http://www.ballotpedia.org/wiki/index.ph…14: http://www.ballotpedia.org/wiki/index.ph…
This is good for the independent voter, and worse for the two major parties. I would vote for it.

This one would make it much harder to form a municipal or public electric utility. It's good for Pacific Gas & Electric and not much else. I would vote against it.

Ryan Said:
What particular info needs to be included on petitions to get an ind. candidate on the ballot in California? We Answered:
California does not allow an independent Candidate on the Presidential ballot. You need to do one of the following to participate in the Presidential election as a candidate:1. Form your own party, get signatures from 1% of eligible voters to qualify the party, and then win your primary (which is what Ross Perot did)
2. Win the primary of one of the 6 parties already qualified (Dem, Rep, American Independent, Green, Libertarian, or Peace&Freedom)
3. File to run as a qualified write-in candidate. Although votes only count for qualified write-ins, California actually makes it pretty easy to qualify - EXCEPT for President. Technically people don't vote for a candidate, but rather elect 55 Presidential Electors who are pledged to vote for that candidate in the Electoral College. So you would need to get 55 friends to formally sign up as electors before you are qualified.

Leslie Said:
I want to have the election ballot sent to my house, how do I do that?We Answered:
You need an absentee ballot in California, but be careful. Don't let ACORN bring you one because they just register and register and register some more. Everyone gets registered over and over and over.
