Maine Election Ballot
Dwayne Said:
Can a governor refuse to allow something on a ballot? We Answered:
From what I am understanding, there were petitions circulated to gain enough support to put the issue to a state-wide vote. The governor is obligated to at that point put the issue onto the ballot and put it to a vote to the state voters. He can't refuse to put something on the ballot, and him signing the proclamation is merely a formality. If he refused to sign the proclamation, the vote would go on, and more than likely, his opinion would be viewed fully by his refusal, which could/would lose him votes. The elections would take place, and that would be that. A governor merely states his support for the vote happening, and nothing more by signing.

If they knew there was gonna be an election........Why did they even bother with the legislature? We Answered:
To show the intent of the legislature and give their stamp to the measure. Letting the electorate know where they stand.Misty Said:
Is gay marriage going to keep getting to be a bigger issue in every presidential election? We Answered:
The people fighting it are too stubborn to move into the 21st century.I don't consider the Bible as a reliable source to enact ones convictions as it relates to condemning homosexuality because it endorses slavery.
However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way. (Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT)
If gay marriage provides a loving family for homeless children, I'm for it.
"Anti-gayists" are quick to TD those in favor of gay marriage but they have little to offer as to why ... it's the way they've always been.

In the State of Maine---Election Commission? We Answered:
I'm guessing a lot. The president candidates need much people to even run for it. Even though anybody can run (Mickey Mouse) ;)
