Emma Said:

Where can I find the issues/choices on this year's ballot in Michigan?

We Answered:

http://www.michigan.gov/documents/Statew…

Lee Said:

Is my theory about the 2000 election off?

We Answered:

You would know your local demographics better then most. Could be valid. But it still makes the Florida disenfranchisement of many black voters something to question. 2000 was a very strange year.

Tim Said:

Medical marijuana question may be headed to Nov. '08 ballot?

We Answered:

Every poll shows the majority of the public 75-80% is in support of this issue.

The government is way behind the people on this issue, and instead are listening to the lobbyists who make huge money on drug prohibition. This is the problem with money in politics, it corrupts politicians and the will of the people is ignored.

Randy Said:

What does it take for a Proposal to be on a ballot in Michigan?

We Answered:

You need to get a petition signed by a number of people at least equal to 10% of the people who voted in the last gubernatorial election.

Since 3,801,256 voted in the 2006 election, that means you'd need to get 380,126 people to sign the petition to get the measure on the ballot. This has to be done within a 180 day period.

These petitions must be turned in at least 120 days before the general election.

Heather Said:

How do you get an initiative on the ballot in the city of Detroit? NOT the entire state of Michigan. Detroit.

We Answered:

Go to the Coleman A. Young (City County) building to find out how to file the proper paper work. I think you may be able to print the forms from the city of Detroit website but I'm not sure.
