San Diego Ballot

Brad Said:

Legalization of marijuana?

We Answered:

I think it is closer than ever!

There are currently 3 bills trying to be pushed through. One was introduced in February of this year by a San Francisco politician. They are all looking for the required signatures so that they can be placed on ballot for voter approval.

I think one deals with decriminalization, one deals with the legalization of most drugs in specific amounts, and the other deals with legalization of cannabis but controlled, regulated. They all call for taxing cannabis. Can we say good by deficit. Well, maybe not but it will certainly help.

Currently they believe that if legal, the cannabis industry will bring in roughly $1.5 in tax revenue. This doesn't include the savings from inmate reduction and drug war support either. In other words, one year of legal cannabis could chip away at a third of our deficit. Very, very intriguing being that our current Cali law makers can't budget our state spending any better than a two year old.

Im missing Prop D on my mail in ballot, what do i do?

We Answered:

Perhaps you are not in the city limits of San Diego. It is a city proposition.

Nathaniel Said:

Will Junior Seau be a first ballot Hall Of Famer?

We Answered:

Very strong possibility, thanks to his playing days on the east coast. If he only played out west no one would have had voted him first time up but now they look back and realize the awesome force he was with the Chargers throughout the 90s and early 00s. Blue and Gold Charger jersey 55 will be in Canton guaranteed, and thankfully for the last couple of years he may get his true recognition and have the honor of a 1st time ballot winner. And honestly he does deserve the ring he didn't get playing for those Bobby Ross teams, and the whole Ryan Leaf nightmare era, I would have loved the Chargers to win one but get one for Seau and call it a carreer on a high note!

Jaime Said:

Why don't all voting places use the same types of ballots?

We Answered:

Because the selection of voting devices is the province of state governments under the U S Constitution.

And because the three leading voting machine manufacturers have hired lobbyists in all states to promote, successfully I might add, enactment of statutes which establish standards for voting devices, the effect of which is to create a market which mandates that counties may purchase devices from only those few manufacturers.

Then manufacturer salesforces hire local lobbyists in the states and counties to influence the purchase of particular brands of devices. Each manufacturer gets a piece of the market.

Ronnie Said:

Today's first ballot Hall of Famers?

We Answered:

Vlad will be a first ballot inductee, as well as Chipper Jones. Todd Helton could conceivably make it first try, too. I'd add Lance Berkman, but he's fading at a bad time to have a chance to be a HOFer, let alone first-ballot material.

Of course, we all understand that you left Yuniesky Betancourt off the list because his case is so obvious...
