Secret Ballot Act
Bessie Said:
why are democrats pushing the "employee free choice act"?We Answered:
Tahuti is not up with the times. At one point in the USA we needed Unions.. but that was many moons ago before we had Laws to protect American Workers.
The only thing that Unions have done in recent times for American workers is cause their jobs to go overseas.
Lets face it when the Unions start demanding a janitor make $80,000 annually there is something seriously wrong.

Patriot Act, secret wiretapping and now a peek into your financial records? What next?We Answered:
If that monkey and his crooked administration were to remain in power, mandatory microchipping would be next.Phillip Said:
What do you think of Obama's 'Employee free choice act' that essentially eliminates secret ballots in union? We Answered:
I remember the days when the wages were still low as were the prices in the stores. My dad was a union carpenter and made decent wages for that period of time. He would go to the grocer and buy the weeks food, pay $10 to $20 for it and fill the bed of the truck with bags of groceries, enough to feed a family of 5 for 7 days. He would complain about the prices he had to pay.As time passed his wages rose until he had gone from $2.75 an hour to over $10 an hour, and all the while the prices in the store got higher. Today if you are making minimum wage you can't feed a family of 5 and pay your rent/mortgage on it without help.
The union has priced our country out of work. We had more money left over at the end of the month at $2.75 an hour than we ever have at $10 an hour. The E.F.C.A. will make it impossible to have a job that is not union and be free from harassment from the bosses and if you don't want the union the unions will harass you. You will lose your freedom of secret choice.
This will also be the first step toward taking the secret ballot from Federal and local elections, thereby opening you to harassment from the ruling faction if you vote other than for them. This is a part of the ideology of the communist party, and the union is also a part of their guidelines.
The main goal is to put the American people under a magnifying glass so the government can run every concept of our lives and enslave us as it was in communist Russia.
If Wal-Mart unionizes, wages will about double, benefits will become greater and their prices will triple to maintain the profit margin they need to compete and they, as most other employers have, will lock the doors.
This is the plan, I believe, so the government can open the store and have no competition and take the rest of your money. It will be like the coal mining companies with the company store. The mine pays your wages, you buy from the company store at inflated prices and the coal company gets most of their money back!

What does section 9 of the Employee Free Choice Act guarentee? (Hint: The correct answer is a secret ballot)? We Answered:
I'm glad to see someone has knowledge of the Free Choice act.Cecil Said:
IS THIS ABSOLUTE PROOF THAT THE EMPLOYEE FREE CHOICE ACT DOES ALLOW FOR SECRET BALLOTS?We Answered:
Yes, you are right, the EFCA does not prevent secret ballot elections from occurring. Also, too the person who feels he's being harassed by his coworkers for not supporting the union, they probably really don't like working with some asshole who is going to enjoy all of the benefits of their struggle even though you were to much of a wuss to stand up and fight along side them. Nobody likes a scab. Scabs were harrassed before the EFCA (I know, because I let a few of them know what I think), and scabs will still be harassed after the EFCA. The simple fact is, nobody likes a parasite.
However, here is the more important point. Employers a rarely punished for offenses committed against employees exercising their right to organize a union, and the risk taken by an employee standing up to an employer is much greater than the risk taken by the employer that chooses to violate their employees right to organize a union.
Union leaders in a workplace where an organizing drive is taking place almost always risk losing their jobs while the employer breaks as many labor laws as it can during the lead up to the election. The whole point of the EFCA is to set up a mechanism for employees to join a union without having to broadcast the whole organizing campaign timetable to the employer. This allows employees to avoid a lot of harassment from their employer, who is operating from a position of much greater power, and has a much greater ability to commit abuses.
