Senate Ballot Paper

Theresa Said:

How does an independent get on the ballot?

We Answered:

It would depend on your local States requirements as far as signatures on petitions are concerned as well as the office running for. The populous state of California may have a higher number of signatures required than say North Dakota or Wyoming. There is also a filing fee, in which for some offices is one charge with petitions and another without, however in the case of Federal Offices I am sure there is something a little more standardized than you will find for more local elections. You must also have someone selected as treasurer or a responsible party for reporting all contributions to your campaign and how the money is spent, what is left over or how much debt the campaign has. Best of luck with your paper. You can contact your local county election office or the state in which you reside for more detailed information.

Ralph Said:

Aussies, do you usually number all the boxes in the senate ballot paper?

We Answered:

Below the line, call me sadistic but I find a perverse pleasure in seeing a 50 (or what ever the last number is) next to the name of the Liberal candidate!

Phyllis Said:

ok obama supporters what has he done?

We Answered:

Go Hillary!!! and obama DID stay a member of a racist church for 20 years and still IS a member to this day!

Franklin Said:

What are Libs gonna do???

We Answered:

No more Cythia McKinney to screech about 'DISENFRANCHISED VOTERS"

I'm curious as to who'll be the next lib peacock to demand attention.

Alice Said:

How is my idea for a Constitution (Extra Credit for school)?

We Answered:

This is extremely interesting, and very well thought out. Congratulations!

But some of your ideas are unworkable, I fear. For example, political parties of a sort will still form, but it will be underground. And since you support total freedom, this becomes a paradox.

I like the limit of 20 laws per year! We need that one!

I don't think the Supreme Court should ever, under any circumstances, "determine the creation of the law." They should only interpret, never create the laws.

B. I think new citizens should also understand our history and government. So should existing citizens.

E. The federal government needs revenue, although far less than they currently misuse. What would you propose?

G. I could argue that surviving family members are victims of suicide. And does the government have to pay for the care of those injured because they didn't use a seatbelt?

I. I don't mind the government banning the ownership of bazookas and flame throwers. And I don't think convicted criminals should be allowed to own firearms.

J. If an employer is hiring a driver, don't you think they have the right to know if that driver is an alcoholic or drug addict?

I give you strong praise for this work, even though I disagree with some points. It shows that you are a deep thinker, and I think you have a bright future in front of you!
