Texas Ballot Propositions
Jennie Said:
Where can I find comprehensive information about what will be on my ballot? We Answered:
You should have received a sample ballot in the mail. This gives you all of the information on the questions you will see on the ballot. Your county may also have another booklet with descriptions about the people running for congress, etc. Most are non-partisan (judges, school board) and others are for Republican, Democrat, Independent or Green Party.Agnes Said:
Do u agree with Gay activist Ellen Degenerese that funding money to support putting Proposition 8 a waste.?We Answered:
Yeah Only the opposition is wasting its money. Brad Pitt could have adopted another kid from a 3rd world country instead of fighting what the majority of Americans want.It doesn't matter how much either of them spend, I will still be voting yes on proposition 8.
Kathy Said:
Should the children of a black doctor get preferential treatment over the children of a white electrician? We Answered:
Obama children must have the affirmative action advantage! Black is black, get use to it!HE MIGHT HAVE A SILVER TONGUE, BUT THAT DOESNT MEAN PRESIDENT OBAMA IS NOT TALKING CRAP. IN FACT, THE CRAP TALKED BY BARACK OBAMA IS SOME OF THE MOST CRAPTASTIC CRAP TALK A CRAP TALKERS EVER TALKED... OUR TELEPROMPTER-IN-CHIEF
Erika Said:
Will Texans vote on legalizing casinos in Texas in the November 6, 2007 elections? We Answered:
Looks like it will go straight to the Texas voters on November 6th. It is about time too. Really drives me crazy to drive past a casino in Oklahoma or Louisiana and see all the Texas license plates in the parking lot. That is money leaving our state - money that could be well spent on education and to help offset the $600 million in federal highway dollars we are having to send back to DC!Pearl Said:
What impact will yesteday's US elections have on the climate? We Answered:
National:Pre-election: climate change legislation paralyzed in Congress (the Senate in particular)
Post-election: climate change legislation still paralyzed - but with a few taxpayer-funded witch hunts ahead in the House
California:
Pre-election: climate change legislation moving forward but fate uncertain due to fossil fuel funded Prop 23
Post-election: climate change legislation moving forward, getting overwhelming backing from Californians, far exceeding the margin of victory of Boxer/Brown.
Total impact on climate: marginally good. California is ground zero now for climate change action, with the help of a few other states.
Most of the Democrats who voted against Waxman Markey got axed. Most of those who didn't, including Republicans are still in the House.
I doubt this will be a wakeup call. The public supports reducing greenhouse gas emissions, but our national leaders are out of step with this, beholden to fossil fuel interests.
