Candidates For Congress

Tyrone Said:

Why do Americans always elect corporate-backed candidates to Congress?

We Answered:

Because those are the only choices that are offered to us. Both parties are 'corporate owned' and they control the elections making it almost impossible for a third party or independent candidate to run. Check the 'committee on presidential debates' which was created in 1988 as a response to Ross Perot's bid for presidency. The idea that an individual who wasn't owned by a party could run scared the crap out of the establishment so they sowed it up.

There will never be another independent who makes a real run for office. 'committee on presidential debates'

Why are voters taking out their anger against Bush on GOP congress candidates?

We Answered:

You have some good analysis there!

I think Obama has a real chance in November too.

I beleive most people see that the problem has been that the dems could get nothing done because they do not have a veto proof majority in the senate or house. I beleive they will have after November so no matter who wins the Presidency, more will get done.

It is interesting to note that after the win in Mississippi last night, 3 of the 4 house seats in VERY Republican MS are now held by Democrats! I never thought I would see that again in MS.

The dems have a real chance for the senate seat there too.
