Democratic Presidential Candidates

Kimberly Said:

Since all the Democratic Presidential candidates seem to support the war in Afghanistan?

We Answered:

No. It means they want to get Osama Bin Laden, idiot. They want to finish the job that Bush has been failing at for the last 6 and a half years: winning the war against al Qaeda.

Is that too complex for your simple brain to understand?

Daisy Said:

Will all of the other Democratic Presidential candidates besides Hillary, refuse to participate?

We Answered:

Absolutely she can debate herself. She has taken all sides of most every issue.

Jesse Said:

How do you think Dennis Kucinich compares to the other democratic presidential Candidates?

We Answered:

Kucinich is the only candidate to vote against the war and its funding every time. He voted against the patriot act. He authored the resolution to impeach Cheney. He is the only candidate for non-profit health care for everyone.

Kucinich, Gravel, and Richardson oppose the immigration border fence. The fence is a terrible idea, requiring armed guards all the time. It would be better to prevent the economic need to cross in the first place. Can you imagine the Chinese Premier, echoing Reagan, "Mr President, tear down that wall!"

Kucinich, Gravel, and Paul are the only candidates to oppose Iran sanctions and military action. Every other candidate was gullible enough to believe Bush and Cheney's lies about Iran.

Kucinich won many Internet polls: Nation magazine, Progressive Democrats of America, Democracy for America, Independent Primary

Although he is lower in fundraising, it is because he won't accept big corporate or special interest donations.

Do not play the electability game. That allows the media to decide your candidate for you. Kucinich voters are smart enough to think for themselves.

Carla Said:

should the democratic presidential candidates work together?

We Answered:

I agree entirely. I have written to both Clinton and Obama urging them not to trash each other, as this only helps the Republicans. And it makes more difficult what many Americans long to see - a Clinton/Obama ticket.

Jared Said:

How do the Democratic presidential candidates stand on the issue of Illegal immigration?

We Answered:

I think immigration full stop is a big issue. When you look at the issues in France, the United Kingdom, Australia and the US it is increasingly clear that no matter how many there are of us that are against racism, integration does not work as well as we would like when that integration does not extend fully to language and culture (excluding religion of which I think must always remain each to his own choice). For a lot of valid reasons migrant groups gather together in particular towns and suburbs creating and them and us from both sides.
I don't have any real answers, just concerns.
Each country should always have the right to determine their immigration policy as they see fit, yet can we truly say economic immigration is of less worth in consideration than refugee immigration. If the table was turned, what parent would not take at times dangerous risks to send money back to a hungry extended family, including children and the elderly.
In no way do I advocate a free for all, that would be against each countries national interests and that of its citizens. Yet at the same time, I see this as a complex area with no simple solutions. I am against walls in principle, but not necessarily their intent.
The globe gets smaller yet we remain troubled by issues that have gone unresolved for a 100 years or more. Can anyone ever put forward immigration policies we would all agree with. I very much doubt it.

Be safe, be sage

Eduardo Said:

Why do Democratic presidential candidates (Obama as well) play defense instead of offense?

We Answered:

I support Obama and I agree with you. The Democrats are too 'civilized', trying to get elected on the issues. Americans don't pay attention to politicians and their position papers. They catch little sounbites from the news. The shorter and simpler the soundbite, the more effective it is. Kerry was weak, Gore was weak, and Obama is likewise playing defense at this point.
I hope Obama will lean on his experience dealing with the tough Chicago Democratic apparatus and take off the gloves when the time comes. God knows, I could write Obama's speeches that would destroy McCain. If I can do it, so can Obama.
Obama should realize only Dem. Clinton won in recent times by not being so fair.

Mike Said:

What is the democratic presidential candidates' opinion on Puerto RIco's political status?

We Answered:

Is there a current issue with Puerto Rico? I don't think any candidate has a position on this as I don't believe any change is being considered............

Discuss It!
