Election Candidates In My Area

Clara Said:

Seems like there is bitter rivalry between Clinton and Obama supporters. Will you fall in line?

We Answered:

Asked who would they vote for in either McCain/Clinton or McCain/Obama matchups:

Less than 20% (19%) of Obama supporters will not support Hillary as the candidate and vote for McCain, while nearly 30% (28%) of Hillary supporters will not vote for Obama, but would vote for McCain.

This doesn't address people who simply wouldn't vote, but they may be in the approx.10% not represented in each matchup.

I don't know that I'd go for McCain, or Nader or anyone else. But I will not cross over to Obama.

Christine Said:

What is a non-biased source to find out about the issues and candidates' of Columbus, OH in the election?

We Answered:

I also advise checking out the League of Women Voters. Use the link in my sources section to find a local chapter. (At the top of their page) A short time before the election, a balanced group of volunteers will have examined the candidates and ballot issues and present information about them. I believe they ask the candidates for a position on a particular topic as well.
The second link is to the location where the Columbus-specific information will be posted, and the newspaper that publishes it.

Here in Dayton, a few days before the election, their ballot information is in the Dayton Daily news, as well.

They have a long history of being non-partisan.

Elaine Said:

How can someone win nomination in the primary election on both the Republican and Democrat tickets?

We Answered:

Apparently some of the offices in your area are elected on a non partisan basis - you don't have to declare a party loyalty. A judgeship is one of the offices that's not supposed to be controlled by a party, so the votes for that office, if you elect judges, isn't based on party loyalty. If it were, than a defendant who is a Republican would have almost no chance when appearing before a Democratic judge. But the law applies equally to all parties, so there is no party affiliation.

Florence Said:

When can I start my election campaign?

We Answered:

I would say that "professional" politicians start campaigning for the next election as soon as the recent one is decided. It's never too early to start getting your name out in the press and on people's minds.

Of course, if you are a liberal, or a socialist, or something of that ilk, you should wait until the day before voting.. or better yet, the day after..

to Get Cameron Out.. When I posted, his additional comments were not there. I don't see how it matters what country the elections are in. It never hurts for people to recognize you as "That guy who helped clean up trash that day" or whatever. I do agree that there is such a thing as "over doing" it though
