The representatives in the House from each state gather, and each state holds a vote amongst its representatives. Regardless of whether a state has one or thirty representatives, each state is given one vote. If a state is divided evenly by its representatives, the state vote is considered to abstain.

Thus, there will be fifty votes possibly cast. One state, one vote. If a candidate reaches 26 or more votes, they are then considered elected. Should no candidate obtain 26 votes, there will be a re-vote amongst the representatives until a winner is chosen.

It's a very arcane system, last employed in 1825.
