Governor Of California Candidates

Valerie Said:

Who do you think will be the new Governor of California, Jerry Brown or Meg Whitman?

We Answered:

They are about even in the polls. THe state would suffer greatly under Brown. I am horrified at the lies Brown campaing is floating around. he did not create a surplus when he was last govenor. It was the left over of Reagan's surplus. He left the state with a huge deficit instead. On the other hand, he criticize Meg Whitman on how she hurt Ebay. She built that company from nothing. She made some mistakes, but in a the whole, the company greatly prospered. I think Brown is preying on the youth, who would not know what damage Brown did as Govenor, and that they don't know how quickly Ebay grew. I am not saying Meg Whitman would make a good Govenor, but Brown would make a horrible GOvenor. Remember, We are in debt already, if Brown left a deficit when he was last Govenor, imagine how much worse we would be when we are already in debt.

As for Obama, I think he's doing below Average. He is not the worse President, but far from the best. He has no clue what he's doing with the economy, and trying to borrow ideas from everyone. That leaves him with no direction. He tried Keynesian economics, but has no idea what it is. He is trying to cut government waste which is what Keynesian Economics is about. Inefficiency means hiring more people than needed, either directly or indirectly. Keynesian is about making government hire people so the would spend more money and create more jobs. Firing people while hiring people in another area, causes more damage because the jobs he is hiring or temp, while those who he fired, are permanent jobs. That causes greater fear and reduce consumer confidence. Recently, his staff criticize Economist for talking about a double dip recession. THey said that talking about it causes consumer confidence to go down and therefor help create that double dip recession. It is true, but remember when he was campaigning and the first year of his Presidency. He keeps refering this recession as the worse since the depression. At that time it was not quit true, and still arguable if it is or not. he just looks at certain factors to make that statement. I recently saw stuff showing Bush sr's Recession as being worse in certain matrices. But the fact that Obama kept saying it is the worse reduce consumer confidence and made the recession worse. He got so bad with the rhetoric, that Clinton went to the office and yelled at him.

Francisco Said:

Has Palin's list of failures increased since Midterm Elections?

We Answered:

On GMA this morning they mentioned that the Republicans are AFRAID of Sarah Palin running in 2012 since they feel she has no chance of winning and they are afraid she will damage the GOP! I mean, she's a great comedian and is useful in supporting those running, although not all of them fared well, but it is doubtful that anyone would vote for someone who walked out on her office in Alaska and has such a chaotic home life.

Just the THOUGHT of her running in 2012 put chills down my spine! But if she destroys the Republican party in doing it then all is good. But if she won it would be the destruction of this country!

Who do you think will be the new Governor of California, Jerry Brown or Meh Whitman?

We Answered:

Whitman.

I don't think she will impress, and I think she'll be a one term gov. But Jerry Brown has a history with California, and part of his history is why California is BROKE today. He is a HUGE union supporter and a proponent of welfare for more people. Two things that will further bankrupt California.

as for Obama, I think he is a major disappointment. But then, no one could live up to the glamourous PROMISES he made. I'm not sure why people believed he could do all that stuff.

ADD:
@LOIS

Brown's "experience" is things like allowing state workers to unionize, which led to the outrageous state worker pensions that are bankrupting MANY California cities right now.

CA is beyond broke, but the state unions are fighting to prevent the state from declaring a bankruptcy because they want to keep their outrageous pension contracts.

seriously, there are state workers in my area that get paid MORE in retirement than they did when they worked, between the social security, their union guarenteed pension and the benefits...they have a net increase in thir quality of life, on the tax payers backs. All while the schools are broke because the state has no money.

Brown would be a mistake.

(yea...Whitman is a fool who can't take a strong stance on any controversial issues. But She has a history of running a strong corporation...so I don't think she'll make things worse. Of course Jerry Brown is a pretty dull knife himself. You should look up some of the quotes from him. Real "WISE" thoughts, like California needs "Fewer jobs and more welfare". seriously, he really said that.)

Claude Said:

Why isn't there any 3rd party candidates in the debates?

We Answered:

Debates are privately arranged affairs between the sponsors and the candidates running in most states (and for President). There is no requirement that any candidate participate in any debate (with some minor exceptions).

That gives the candidates of the major parties a big advantage. They simply agree to only debate each other and to exclude all other candidates. Since the third party candidates typically do not show as having significant support in the polls, the corporate news media -- which follows a conventional definition of what is worthy of coverage -- mostly ignore the cozy arrangement between the two parties and treat the exclusion of the minor party candidates as no big deal.
