How Are Candidates Selected For Election

Micheal Said:

Elections. How important is the environment and conservation to you?

We Answered:

It's important to me.
Unfortunatley, it's become like the most un-talked-about issues in politics today. Al Gore is an enviromental genius and American icon for the issue.
To be honest, I'd like to hear more folks in capitol hill admitting the dangers of the greenhouse effect and global warming. I think the main reason the issue is avoided is because of the economical impact of forcing big industry to pollute less. Not to mention that if the general public really knew the severity of losing greenspace, animal and plant extinctions, changes in water temperature and salinity, and the jeopardy we are in as a result of consuming rather than conserving our planet.

It's a really important issue to me. Our children and childrens children will have to live in this world. It's our duty to protect it's beauty and provide safe, clean living conditions for future generations.
At the current rate we are going, it appears the overall outlook is grim.

Justin Said:

Where do I go to for election jobs?

We Answered:

1. First, go to his/her party office asking if there is something you can do. Start with its headquarters and down to your neighbourhood. Usually candidates do not have enough budgets to pay you as you expect. In fact they look for volunteers.

2. But if you are not into specific candidates but interested in Election jobs not only at home but overseas, you can contact the: INTERNATIONAL REPUBLICAN INSTITUTE or NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC INSTITUTE both are endorsed by the Congress and funded by USAID.

3. They operates in East Europe, South East Asia, Central Asia, Central America, and Africa.

4. If you are not into the US agencies, try the European Commission...they are meddling in other countries's election too and they've got a lot of cash!
Good luck

Help with how political campaigns have changed in the late 20th century?

We Answered:

Most likely A.

Why it's not:
B. the election system is still dominated by the Democrats and Republicans, so it is very important to win those to have a good shot at being elected

C. Party bosses? lolno.

D. Party conventions have LOST power because more and more Americans identify themselves as independent, as opposed to being part of a party.

E. Congressional seats are won by the incumbent 92+% of the time, so no, they are not very competitive.

Josephine Said:

Isn't giving select candidates the funding of free tax dollars illegal?

We Answered:

The real candidates have Secret Service protection to avoid another Bobby Kennedy deal........The wannabee candidates have Chuck Norris and a handfull of rabid Yahoo Answers fans to protect them, but to everyones dismay, even the assasins dont care about Huckabee and Ron Paul, enough to do any harm to them.

Carla Said:

If a President was proven to have been elected without being eligible for the office of President, what's next?

We Answered:

It is unlikely that something like that will happen. The election would be voided and previous running candidates may continue their campaign. The "previous" president would have to remain until there is a new president. That should take about 6 to 12 months.

Holly Said:

how are the candidates for office of the Presidential and Vice-President are selected?

We Answered:

grass roots to POTUS..it is a process of local politics going to

national level..this is a complicarted question but many politicians

started in a humble job..like Sarah Palin as Mayor of a City and then

Govenor..and finally she has a shot at vice President...

Palin is the exceptional candidate..most take years of grooming
