It's frightening, angering and stupifying! I don't know how many of y'all studied the beginnings of communism in Cuba or the rise of Hugo Chavez in Venezuela, but these germinating issues are very similar to what commenced the governments in those areas.

I am conservative, but I would feel just as threatened hearing such governmental warnings against the liberal groups of American citizens that live in neighborhoods side-by-side with me. They even warned against veterans! The very people that put their lives on the line for their government!

I'm almost afraid to write this (wondering if Big Brother is watching) but I never owned a gun before yet I am seriously considering a micro arsenal to get ready to take up arms as "being necessary to the security of a free State" (U.S. Constitution). We can never forget that this is our right "That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government" (Declaration of Independence). So, I am getting ready to abolish this one should it get too socialized.

Go ahead and dismiss this as paranoia. Even I can't believe that I am starting to think this way. But I have plenty of friends from Cuba, Venezuala and Checkoslovakia tell me their sad stories. And they are eerily similar to what's happening here and now. I hope I'm wrong, and if I'm wrong..well..I'll have a cool weapons collection. But if I'm right at least I will be ready to defend yours and my rights.

Hi, I am definitely not on the right. The answers seem to say they prefer lower taxation rather than eliminating social programs but I am not sure about that. We don't have high taxation in this country compared to Europe so I dont understand it unless they want no taxation and dont realize that means no services and no government protections. They are against certain departments for reasons I dont get like Depts of Education and Energy.

We had to have bail outs to save our whole economic system. Because of the help for banks and auto makers, the Obama admin decided to help Main St. When they did that, they were called socialists. They cant win.

Unfortunately I dont get Bill Maher.

It's called reciprocity. Bachman endorsed Blunt and Blunt endorsed Bachman. Take a look at the blurbs on the next hardcover book you buy. Most of them are by other authors who got favorable blurbs from the author of the book.

I think it is slander, with, as you say, NO evidence.

And it is alarming that our government is labeling us based on political views, particularly given the 'systematic' spying violations by the govt under FISA that the NYTimes reported this morning. Who do you think they will be spying on?
