New Hampshire Primary?We Answered:
Called Diebold. They are pathetic to say the least. It was reported Ron Paul had zero votes in some places...but their were people who KNOW that they voted for him. Sad.Clara Said:

Who will win the New Hampshire primary for Democrats and Republicans? Why?We Answered:
Well, NH should be the "kiss of death" for Republicans, since the Republican winner will be the most liberal among them, and hence the one least likely to win any other state against a Democrat. My money is on McCain in NH, and I doubt he'll finish third anywhere else.
On the Democrat side, I don't really care. I don't see any of them having a snowball's chance in November unless the opponent is McCain.

What is the real basis of New Hampshire holding the first Presidential primary? We Answered:
If I remember correctly, NH's state constitution says that they will always hold their primary elections one week before any other state. Why? It puts them in the spotlight. It gets them more visits from the candidates so that they get more of the early mind-share from each. It actually gives NH the power to set agendas, since the candidates will tend to support ideas they get from NH in order to win the state. It makes no sense at all from a national perspective, but it makes a lot of sense for the people of New Hampshire.

Why does New Hampshire always get to have its primary first? We Answered:
New Hampshire State law requires them to have the first Presidential Primary, which means if another state schedules an early primary NH will move theirs back to be in compliance with their law. While early primaries don't automatically determine the nominee, they serve as an early benchmark for candidates to test who Americans are going to support. If a candidate does poorly in the first few primaries, he or she is unlikely to invest more money in more states to try and win the number of delegates for the nomination.
In recent years, other states have tried to move their primaries (or caucuses, as Iowa has, and are not included in the NH law) earlier in the season to give their state an advantage in the selection, only to have New Hampshire and Iowa move theirs back. However, New Hampshire and Iowa voters take their role as early selectors very seriously and don't just vote for whoever panders the most or whoever looks the best on TV.
I agree that the Presidential election process is confusing and counter to our ideas of democracy from nomination to the electoral college, but it may be easier to accept when we have a President many of us can get behind!

What is the New Hampshire Primary? We Answered:
new hampshire is the first of primary elections that will be held throughout the united states. a primary is an election in which the people vote for a candidate from a certain political party. because the united states places a great deal on its two major political parties, primary elections have become very important. in other countries with many major political parties or countries that don't hold their political parties in such high prestige, primaries are less important.so, to answer your question: it is to decide who the democrats and republicans will endorse as their candidate. once it is decided, a general election takes place between the two party endorsements.
