South Carolina Candidates

Theresa Said:

How will South Carolina allocate its delegates?

We Answered:

This is still an open question as of today. But the exact number of delegates will not be decided before the convention. The division of the state delegates is usually determined by the state party, not the national party. There is a possibility that the state may credential "provisional delegates", pending a final determination of the convention as to the exact number who will be seated and allowed to vote. (They always have both regular delegates and "alternates"--extra seats with attendees who step in if one or more delegates is sick or absent.)
There are reports from several major news sources that if the Democratic National Committee continues their plans to "punish" states that moved their primaries up by reducing their number of delegates, those states will file a challenge in the Party credentials committee, and then if they lose there, will take the objection to the floor of the convention for the entire convention to vote on the challenge. (Michigan has sent a letter stating that as a fact.) The last time this sort of thing erupted in a party convention was in the 60's, when protesters of several southern states filed protests over racial discrimination in the selection of delegates. It was a long and nasty sight on television, so expect there will be some compromise to prevent any display of "disharmony" before the tv cameras.

Rick Said:

what does it take to get a straight answer from the Candidates that are debating in South Carolina?

We Answered:

...You want a straight answer from someone running for public office!...lol

Next thing you'll want is honesty in government. Ask this and try to get a straight answer...

Would it be possible to get a law passed to strictly prohibit any other agency or department in the federal government, state government or local government from tapping into the Social Security fund so as to not allow the fund to dry up with programs being paid for through Social Security that have nothing to do with health care or pension?

Sit back and watch 'em squirm....

Courtney Said:

What offices are up for election this November, and what are the candidates in South Carolina ( Rep .and Dem)?

We Answered:

Arthur Said:

Explain the now occurring election process. Candidates are not in South Carolina, what's next?

We Answered:

We vote for the President in November . Right now we are voting in every state to determine who our final two candidates will be.

Grace Said:

How does South Carolina nominate presidential candidates?

We Answered:

South Carolina is a primary state. I'm sure that you can get much more information by googling the state Republican and Democratic parties.

Toni Said:

Is Obama a supporter of Democrat South Carolina Senate candidate Greene?

We Answered:

It does not matter. Jim DeMint will be re-elected in a landslide. I doubt Obama really cares about Democrats who are certain to lose.

Anthony Said:

Why did Democrats in South Carolina wait until after the primary losses to complain about candidates?

We Answered:

Identifying it as a "primary loss" is incorrect.

Prior to election day Alvin Greene was not known. He was unemployed, living with his father, facing felony charges and not at all active in the Democratic party in South Carolina. It's a primary where Democrats invested little because of a "certain" win by DeMint in November.

Still, it says something about the number of uncontested races in this country given that it is an "anti incumbency" year.

I think that you need to go back and check your facts concerning "most were defeated". Of 84 incumbents running in the elections last Tuesday, only two were defeated - one of those being a regular scoundrel (under many investigations - gov of Nevada).

Discuss It!
