Upcoming Presidential Election

Philip Said:

Who are the Republican candidates for the upcoming presidential election?

We Answered:

Sure... Obama is actually a democrat.. lol

but thank you for asking the question and bothering to do the research, it is always better to be informed..

But here are the republicans and a basic idea of where they stand on the issues:

Rudy Giuliani:
-Supports war with Iraq
-Supports the idea of going to war with Iran and Pakistan
-Supports full amnesty for illegal immigrants
-Would not sign a paper confirming he would lower taxes, thus confirming that he won't
-Only supports civil unions but no gay marriages
-Voted Yes on the Patriot Act
-His children don't speak to him and don't plan to vote for him (I know that doesn't have anything to do with the issues, but I just thought that was a red flag so I added)

Mitt Romney:
-He has flip flopped on the issues so many times, its always hard to tell where he stands
-He supports the Iraq war and sending more troops in
-Voted Yes to the Patriot Act

John Mccain:
-Yes to Patriot Act
-Yes to Iraq War
-Yes to war with Iran and Pakistan
-No to signing paper confirming lower taxes, expect to be taxed highly with this one too
-Offered Amnesty for illegals

Ron Paul- He is anti-war, wants to lower taxes for the middle class and poor, voted no against the Patriot Act, voted no against the amendment banning gay marriges. He believes the United States should have a non-intervenionlist forgien policy where we trade and negiote with other countries instead of fighting useless wars where so many innocent people die. He wants to drastically reduce the debt the United States is in and restore our country to the democracy it once was. Finally we have a voice for the people.. one that isn't backed by corporations and lobbyists.. but by the people.. Ron Paul is a man of his word.. just check his track record.. He knows where he stands on the issues, unlike other canidates whose stances seem to change from week to week.. I truly believe he can boost the morale of this country and restore a democracy for the people not just for the elite...

Fred Thompson:
-actor who doesn't show up to the debates
-Contrary to popular belief he is a pro amnesty candidate... He voted so employers cannot verify if their employees are illegals or not -- www.immigration2008.com

Ivan Said:

By what date do you have to be born to vote in the upcoming presidential election?

We Answered:

Many states do allow 17 year olds to register to vote provided that they will be 18 before the General Election. Check your state's laws to make sure that this is the case and don't forget that you must be registered before your state's deadline! For more information, go to this website (http://www.declareyourself.com/voting_fa… ), and to register to vote, go here (https://electionimpact.votenet.com/decla… )!

Sidney Said:

Will the Republican party allow Iraq to lose them the upcoming Presidential election?

We Answered:

Nope. Democrats have been in power and cannot even get a majority to vote to cut off funding.

The American people voted against Republicans because the Republicans were not being Republicans. Democrats were the recipients of this. Now that they have to do something, they get nothing done.

I think the Democrats have already given both houses and the presidency to Republicans

Seth Said:

I just curious to see what other countries think about U.S upcoming presidential election.?

We Answered:

Well, since John McCain has already stated his standpoint on foreign affairs, and you couldn't fit a cigarette paper between his position and George Bush, the rest of the world would probably prefer Obama. I know I would, my reasoning being our stupid leader believed what your stupid leader told him about Iraq and got me involved in a stupid war which absolutely no one in the intelligence community believes was about anything other than furthering the oil industry.

McCain would just get both our countries involved in more stupid wars.

Ray... not content with assuming superiority over Brits, you now begin to insult your own countryfolk. It the right of anyone on here to ask whatever question they like. And you can't argue the Presidential office is not vulnerable to lobbyists... I won't be crass like the other bloke... one of the most powerful lobby groups in the US is the NRA. That's one of the reasons the US has the poorest record on gun control in the western world. As one Texan bloke answered another question 'Gun control in Texas is using both hands.'

Ah, that's good Ray, I haven't laughed so hard in a long time... Knowing indeed. And I've seen you accuse the British of being arrogant too... well, at least you recognise it through being that way yourself. Can you spell hypocrite?

Georgia Said:

Who Should current college students cast their vote for in the upcoming Presidential election and why?

We Answered:

The candidate of their own choosing.

Violet Said:

Upcoming Presidential Election: Neither sitting Pres or VP are candidates?

We Answered:

."Upcoming Presidential Election: Neither sitting Pres or VP are candidates?"
and that's a good thing!!!

Marcia Said:

Will the bradley effect have an effect on the upcoming presidential election?

We Answered:

I believe people will vote for him and against him do to his ethnicity yet it will not be a downside to the obama campaign. Here are some numbers per Fox news and CNN. 40-55% of whites will vote for obama. 85-95% of blacks will vote for obama. This may have a positive effect on the election for Obama.

Also, something that many people leave out when discussing the bradley effect is that first he ran a terrible campaign per CNN. Also Bradley was ahead by double digits in the polls which affected voter turnout.

Discuss It!
