Conservation Of Forests

Greg Said:

Question of Resource conservation and subtitution Projects?

We Answered:

A classic study would be one to conserve forest by using recycled wood products. That way you conserve the forest and the substitution is done by using recycled items in place of new ones. You'll have to find a specific one since I can only describe the type of project you should look for.

Evelyn Said:

I want a project report on conservation Of forests & wildlife?

We Answered:

Sierra Club

Lorraine Said:

could i now why and how conservation of forests,semi-arid and grasslands ecosystems is done?

We Answered:

The government stops development in the areas. It's like Captain Kirk's prime directive. Instead of Alien life and culture, substitute in Nature.

Can you please tell me a site in whuch i can get info on the topic - conservation of forests?

Randall Said:

how does manufacturing of synthetic fibers help in conservation of forests?

We Answered:

It does help forests.

As much as they may be a renewable resource ( the trees), they are being cut faster than they grow. By using synthetic fibres, the forests are not cut for it, so those trees live longer, spread their seeds etc. The number used for fibres currently is enough that even if it was halved, many forests could regrow/return.

Jamie Said:

I WANT TO CONDUCT A SURVEY ON THE CONSERVATION OF FORESTS. WHAT QUESTIONS CAN I ASK?

We Answered:

Firstly conservation of forests includes national parks, nature reserves etc

I would ask firstly what plans and strategies the agency/organisations/managers have in place for forest conservation.

1. What management plan(s) are in place to deal with the conservation of forests?

2. What are the objectives for the conservation of forests?

3. How are these objectives going to be measured to ensure conservation is achieved? (usually call Key Performance Indexes)

4. What monitoring strategies are in place to identify issues with forest conservation so as to rectify these issues sooner rather then later?

Then you could go on to identify risks and threats to forest conservation.

5. What are the major threats/risks to forest conservation?

6. How do you propose to minimise these threats/risks to the forest?

7. What strategies are in place to regenerate/recover the forest from these risks/threats?

Then if the forest is a commercial forest (that is used for harvesting), could ask;

8. What silvicultural practices are undertaken in the forest, and why are diferent practices used and what impact do these different practices have on forest conservation?

9. What do you believe is the biggest environmental issue concerning forest conservation in a production environment?

10. What strategies are implemented to ensure the best regeneration of forest and the less impact on the forest during operations?

11. How long are the rotations on the forests? And how have these rotations been determined?

12. Do you have any international/national sustainability certification for your harvesting, and if so what sort and what does that entail?

Lastly, the biggest threat to forest conservation without doubt is humans, so in a national park or besides harvesting;

13. How do humans directly (and indirectly) impact on forest conservation?

14. How can humans/I reduce the risk or impact that I have on forest degradation?

15. What can humans/I do to ensure and promote forest conservation?

16. Forest policy can be changed dramatically by a change in political power, how do you manage for this and what policies should I look for in political parties to ensure I elect the party with the best policies for forest conservation?

Well there is 16 questions that one could ask, hope it is of some help.

Ronald Said:

What are the modern ways of conservation of forests?

We Answered:

Timber industries can use various methods to conserve forests, e.g. they can plant trees to replace the ones they cut down. Other ways are designating protected areas, making it illegal for people to enter or make use of the area. Sometimes, in order to conserve forests, e.g. an industry bulldozes an entire forest to make room for their buildings and stuff, they could buy a piece of forested land somewhere in some other country for the sole purpose of preserving it and leaving it all natural (to keep that one from being destroyed by some other ruthless people) to compensate for the forest they destroyed to build their industry.
