It takes courage to use your own eyes and form your own opinions.
Being a liberal is easy, you just think what they tell you to think. Being a conservative takes discipline, compassion, patience, critical thinking skills, and a finely tuned bullsh*t detector.

You will find that if something really gets the liberals revved up, it must be something you need to read or tune in to, like Rush or Glenn Beck. Some books..."Rules for Radicals" by Saul Alynski, is the standard operating procedure for the left. Then go get "Liberal Fascism" by Jonah Goldberg, then "Basic Economics" by Thomas Sowell and read them cover to cover. You will then have a brand new compass to navigate the torrent of misinformation, we are assaulted with on a daily basis.

There is danger in the middle ground. Remember Millard Fillmore? Neither does anyone else because instead of uniting the country, as was his wish, he succeeded in making enemies of everyone.

While I would agree that much of the world is left of the United States, it's interesting that an extreme leftist country moving rightward is enjoying the most marked improvement - China.

Many of the things you could root for are incompatible with each other. MIM would not be interested in Ron Paul's foreign policy and progessivism would have no place for Puritan morality just to name a few. Deng and the Fabians might recognize each other, but they'd never be friends. And in the United States, racial equality isn't the brainchild of liberals. It really belongs in the court of conservatives and earlier Jeffersonians as thier namesake made the unprovoked decision to free his own slaves out of conscience.

There is certainly some merit to each idea you list, but if you try to blend them together into some sort of utopian soup, you're just going to end up with gray goo and a lot of dissatified hungry people.

Even though I too find it a bit amusing, it doesn't bother me. Think about this. We have had leaders of all kinds of faiths and some who didn't believe in any God. Most have professed some sort of belief, but my point is in our world, there will be some who choose to follow one god or another. I stand firm in what I believe, and that is I believe in God and I worship Christ alone. Now, if someone is elected to office who believes something different, what am I supposed to do? I can only pray for those who do not believe, and pray that our country go in the right direction. Who we elect is who we elect. Sure I would love it to see more Christians in office, but our world is not that way. He has been elected, and its something the citizens of NY will have to deal with.

Yes, you people rule the blogs and with few exceptions, the MSM as well, but that appears to be backfiring because most people are smart enough to see the bias and aren't reacting very favorably.

I can't think of any conservative documentaries unless you count Alex Jones stuff which is just a bunch of conspiracies.
There are some good books you can read though like Barry Goldwater's Conscious of a Conservative. There is also Mark Levins Liberty and Tyranny which is like a rewrite of Thomas Paine's Common Sense.
If you are really into politics I suggest reading Plato's Republic which is tough to read but very good
