Conservative means slow to change. No problem there. The problem in the US, and I suspect in the middle east, is that the definition of 'conservative', as used by some very shady people is bogus. What we have here in the US is a well intrenched 'reactionary' element that isn't interested in 'change'...what they're interested in is going back to a time that never was. In the states, ever since Ronald Reagan fell in with bad company, these reactionaries have hid behind the name 'conservative'. In addition, they created an 'inside enemy' they dubbed the 'liberals', once again redefining a word to fit into their agenda of retro politics. I can't speak for the folks in the middle east, but the same kind of thinking afflicts all 'true believers'......nothing can penetrate their belief system. People shouldn't be enemies because some dumb @ss with a 'holy' book or a trumped up political agenda talks trash and uses disinformation and propaganda to make their point. Anyone who talks like that is total @sshole and you may quote me!
