Jared Said:

How to learn about ecology, wildlife conservation, and naturalism?

We Answered:

There are two excellent texts in ecology that I like. One is by Robert Leo Smith. Another (somewhat broader) is by Wagner. In terms of field guides, the Peterson series is, IMHO, by far the best but, for the money, the Golden Guides are excellent and very simple.

What is the difference between conservation genetics, restoration genetics, and restoration ecology?

We Answered:

Conservation genetics deal with dna, and biological manipulation and engineering in order to PROTECT and conserve, a species, diversity, or an environment. They are a preventative measure. For example, conservation genetics are used to find a weakness of an invasive species, killing that species, and thus protecting the native environment.
Restoration genetics pertain to dna, and biological manipulation that is aimed towards REBUILDING, a species, population, ecosystem, environment, or diversity in general after it has already been damaged. Example: A severely endangered species with only 12 members left is artificially bred by scientists who artificially inseminate them in hopes of bringing back the species.
Restoration ecology is more general than restoration genetics, as it covers the entire field of the applied science of restoration ecology. Understanding relationships, chemical composition, and many things that include but are not limited to biology is restoration ecology. For example: For example, introducing wolves into Yellowstone after studying what habitats suit them.

Zachary Said:

is ecology and conservation at uni super hard?

We Answered:

If this is your attitude perhaps university is not right for you, there is a lot of study whatever subject you do....you need to speak to someone at the university's student union and ask them to put you in touch with one of the alumnae...they will be able to answer your question...I can tell you though that University is easier than G.C.S.E. a'Level , but you need to be able to think for yourself.

What is the diffence between conservation ecology and forestry?

We Answered:

Ecology (from Greek ?????, oikos, "house(hold)"; and -?????, -logia) is the scientific study of the distribution and abundance of life and the interactions between organisms and their natural environment [1]. The environment of an organism includes physical properties, which can be described as the sum of local abiotic factors such as insolation (sunlight), climate, and geology, and biotic ecosystem, which includes other organisms that share its habitat.[2]

forestry is one of the parts of ecology
