what are the most common failures of land and how to conserve it?We Answered:
the first person said the most common problem... salinity. how to solve it is to not cut down the trees because if you cut down the trees, you let the water table rise and that lets the salt from the ground reach the surface and that kills plant life.another problem is phospherous and farming. Phospherous is a life giving nutrient and killing one too because it is a nutrient which forms lands and their types. In farming, they are adding too much fertilizer that they can change a hill into a rain forest! another draw back is that the natural nutrients in the soil which recharge over time get used up faster and you end up with a dry land. another problem is that for old farm used for development, you have still have phospherous and over time it has been under chemical reaction thanks to the sun. it's oxidized and careless bull dozers move that oxidized soil to somewhere else... you have acidification of the soil. Which leads to soild which is dead land.
how to conserve land, understand the nitrogen, carbon, and phospherous cycle. If people understood that then you will have less trouble with soil erosion. Well particularly the phospherous cycle.

Does anyone feel the way I do?We Answered:
It's so so easy to become overwhelmed with all the things going on in the world we live. I've had times in my life when I felt just like you do, my friend. It's hard to see so much suffering and to feel helpless to be able to do anything about it. I think we all just have to do the best that we can. Think of every little positive action that you take as being a small little wave of good that has the potential to create even more good.My advice to you is to find whatever you are passionate about and try to make an impact in that area, whatever it is. Volunteer Match and Network for Good are both excellent resources for people to find where they are needed most in their area and what matches their interests.
So, if environmental issues are very important to you, don't just do all you can (recycling, reducing waste, reusing items when possible) but use what you know (and what you learn) to educate others. Check out Yahoo answers... there are always people that can use your knowledge and expertise and you can make an impact here.
Sure do wish you all the best my friend :)
