Help with a question about the "Dust Bowl"?

We Answered:

crop rotation, tilling instead of ploughing, planting orchards and vineyards to create windbreakers, cover crops to prevent soil loss in the orchards or vineyards

That's all I can think of or remember. Good luck.

4th grade science question? Soil conservation......?

We Answered:

Planting trees at grade shifts helps allot (such as at the top and bottom of hills)

Planting crops perpendicular to the grade (planting crops across the hill, not up and down)

For nutrients, farmers leave fields fallow (not planted) or they usually now plant grasses which trap nitrogen from the air and return it to the soil.

Crops can also be rotated as different crops use different amounts of nutriants.

How long does it take for soil to come back? 10 points to first correct ctnswer!?

We Answered:

I kind of assume you mean naturally, because if you put it back with compost you buy at the store, about 5 min.. Making your own compost on top, about a year or two. But naturally, all by itself, about 100 years.
