The Tories do keep shooting themselves in the foot. They had a perfectly clear stance on the economy, we need to make cuts sooner rather than later. It wasn't a wrong stance to take most economists split down the middle on this. Then they announce that cuts wont be so bad this year i.e. A few more cuts on top of Labours plans. So essentially allowing Labour to get the advantage and make it look like a Tory U-turn. The Labour spin machine is very clever but, the problem is once in a while it has to be backed up with substance.

However what I really don't understand is why Lib Dems haven't caught up Labour. Throughout this recession there was one party that was ahead of the game, the Lib Dems. Gordon Brown's handling of the financial crisis in most cases has been a 6 month delay of Vince Cable.

One would hope not! I truly hope the Conservatives keep chipping away and increase their lead further.That said, I fear bribery may used to woo the voters.There are those with a "whats in it for me"attitude. I hope I am proved wrong! The 8% lead would I believe, in the event of an election, give the Conservatives a majority of two(?). Gordon Brown is a master of deceit and lies, with an election not happening til 2009,(supposedly) he has plenty of time to produce a trick or two.The man has no conscience, so will do whatever it takes to further his aims.I pray the voters remember that,and not be fooled again...The future of this country depends on it.

Instead,doing things they think are good for us whether we like it or not and whether they have any realistic prospect of solving problems or doing any of us any good.
