Ways To Conserve Soil

Priscilla Said:

What are 10 way to conserve soil?? I need help 4 science class!?

We Answered:

Plant ground cover.
Plough in contours never down hill.
Do not 'slash and burn'.
Cattle and sheep grassing should be to different areas and not always in the same place.
While farming, make sure the watering locations are distributed or else animals will create footpaths which eventually become water courses.
Plant wind breaks upwind side of fields.
Sprinkle irrigation rather than 'channels and flooding'.
After harvesting, leave the stalks on the fields and plough it into the soil.
Conservative tree farming, always replant immediately.
Hillside terraces.

I need help making a final paragraph but i don't know what to put......?

We Answered:

In doing so we can preserve the earth, the way we want it to be, for future generations to come. There is a saying that goes 'you never miss the bucket, till the well runs dry.' Which simply means that you do not realise how important something is until it is gone. We must learn to safe-guard the future so there would be something to pass on.

Hope this helps
I have no idea the origins of the saying. I grew up in the Caribbean hearing it all the time.
