more likely to be educated, in a well paying job. typical black republicans are conservative, so believe in limited governmental interference, free markets, reevaluation of tax laws (so not taxing inheritance, maybe implementing flat tax, etc). usually don't like many social welfare programs, as they feel they actually hurt the black community. black republicans are slightly more likely to be foreign blacks (from africa, the Caribbean, etc)

Black democrats:
more likely to be middle class than not. work and education vary greatly. black democrats are more likely to support welfare programs such as universal health insurance, woman, infant and children programs, etc. basically, believe there should be some the government interference (if it's a good government) to assure everyone is treated with at least the same basic standard of living.

ethics vary so it's hard to divide by party. blacks as a whole tend to as a large group to be anti abortion and to promote gun laws (which makes sense, the vast majority of american blacks are either currently in the south, or very closely tied to the south. the second largest group are urban blacks). blacks as a whole are also more likely to be evangelical Christians than not.

but of course that varies, because you're talking about a very large group here.

as the bush administration came to power, many southern blacks especially switched over to "republican" because bush had similar stances on abortion, etc as they did. but if you're talking standard republican vs standard democrat, i think the summary above is a quick and dirty synopsis.

*edit- black republicans are slightly more likely to be foreign because

(a) being a black democrat is a socialized thing in america. therefore there is some community backlash about being republican. you'll find many educated blacks will call themselves "independent" instead.

(b) foreign blacks who come to this country are MUCH more likely to end up owning a business. business owners are more likely to be republican because it's in their better interest in some ways

(c) foreign blacks are less likely to come from countries with strong social services from the government (their social services would come from the community, church, etc). so they're used to having to "fend" for themselves, and expect it (obviously this wouldn't be true of say, a canadian black)

(d) foreign blacks are more likely to be distrustful of government, and so want as little government interference as possible.

it partly has to do with the nature of people who would voluntarily leave their country to start a new life. in a sense, it's a personality thing. also, it is often the best way to make a start in a new country, esp if you're not familiar with the culture or language. you create braiding shops, restaurants, luxury taxi services, etc basically try to serve a need.

Economy- Generally speaking democrats want higher taxes so that the government will help solve the problems of poor people through programs like welfare, whereas republicans believe in low taxes which will increase spending and stimulate the economy allowing the poor to help themselves.

Education- Not really sure of many differences here, but I know that generally speaking, colleges tend to be more liberal for whatever reason.

Abortion- Republicans are against it most of the time, and democrats are pro-choice most of the time.

War on Terror- Neither side is really for it, but democrats want to withdraw almost immediately, but the republicans want to stay because they believe we are in too deep to back out and it could possibly ruin the country further.

Environment- Democrats usually seemed to be more concerned about the environment and are against things like drilling in Alaska for oil despite the economic advantages we would gain. Republicans, however, seem to believe in the preservation of nature, but put it pretty low on the priority list, so something like all that oil would be worth it to them. It's the same for going green for global warming, republicans don't think it's worth the economic risk.

Healthcare- Goes hand-in-hand with the economy part if you are talking about universal health care, since republicans don't want to raise taxes for it. Other than that, it seems like both parties recognize there is something wrong with our health care system, but like the environment, democrats place it higher up on their priorities list.

Excellent concept. Neither is really listening to their constituents. Neither is really concerned with the welfare of the country. Both put the good of the party above the good of the nation. Neither is willing to work together with the other. Neither would ever do anything constructive if they thought there was a chance the other side could take credit.

There are major differences in pholosophy, but only minor ones in tactics.
