Yes, I think the party system is old and outdated. We definitely need more than 2 (or 3) candidates to select from for such an important position in our government. I also think the electoral system is old and outdated and needs some serious updates (at the very least).

Yes. Sure it'd be rough on election day, but there's so many more components to that one special person that are more important. It's hard to find someone good so it'd be stupid to ruin it over something that can be worked around.

If you're a democrat, you're supposed to believe that the past 8 years have been horrible. Horrible economy, horrible leadership, horrible loss of freedoms for a president who can't be trusted. You're supposed to believe that America should be respected by the rest of the world and the way to regain that is through diplomacy.

If you're a republican, you're supposed to believe that America is surrounded by enemies and our only options are war or surrender. The most important domestic issues are banning abortion and stopping the gay rights movement.

The idea is to divide the masses into groups. Rich against the poor. Democrats against the Republicans. Straight against gay. Abortion,health care illegals etc. etc. United we stand, divided we fall. Must easier to gain control over Americans when divided. Obama now has all Americans divided into groups. Mission accomplished. Or so he may think. Apparently he does not understand in America, when push comes to shove. Real Americans will prevail. It may be different in Kenya. PRIDE, DIGNITY, HONOR, VALUES still have a place, regardless how the government tends to dismantle the constitution and the American people. We will rise and stand tall when our freedoms are threatened.

It mainly has to do with the Civil Rights movement. During the Civil War the Democratic party supported slavery which was important to the South since it depended on slave labor. During 1960s though, the national Democratic Party supported Civil Rights. This caused many in the South to turn against the Democratic Party.
