The part you fail to address is where that support is going, if anywhere. Because no one thinks that the Republicans will reap any benefits, and their relentless drive to purge their party of any moderate voices won't do a thing to help them attract independent voters.

Ted Kennedy made Obama the president by endorsing him early in the race.

This is still doing untold damage, even after Kennedy is gone.

It is impossible to calculate the extent of the damage done by the Kennedy generation, including the harm of poisoning the minds of an entire generation in their idolizing infatuation with the Kennedy celebrity image.

They seemed unaware that they were idolizing the product of one man's life of crime. And when they found out the truth, they didn't seem to care.

Brewer was elected as a Republican to the Arizona State Legislature served for 14 years, first as a state representative from 1983 to 1986, and then, as state senator from 1987 to 1996. During her last three years as a state senator, she held the leadership position of majority whip. In 1996 Brewer ran for chairman of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors defeating incumbent Ed King and served six years. She was elected Secretary of State of Arizona in 2002 and has served since 2003. She was also a delegate to the 2004 Republican National Convention. [1]

Governor Napolitano has been officially nominated by President-elect Barack Obama to be his Secretary of Homeland Security. [2] If Napolitano is confirmed by the Senate, Brewer will become Governor of Arizona.[3] She would be Arizona's third consecutive female Governor and the fourth female Governor of the state.

Brewer is also a member of Luke Fighter Country Partnership, Hope and a Future, Child Help USA, Arizonans for Children, Arrowhead Republican Women's Club, the Maricopa County SMI Commission, the Arizona Rifle and Pistol Association, and the Japanese-American Citizens League.
