Democratic Party Definition

Eduardo Said:

Whats the difference between the Democratic and Republican party?

We Answered:

Republicans, believe the power in America lies with its people. Government needs to stay out of the personal lives of the people. Government needs to be small. Taxes should be minimal. But ultimately, they believe that the main job of government is to create an environment where people can be successful and defend it. Where the only limitations on ones life and success are the limits of ones own enthusiasm, spirit, fortitude, and courage. NOT, as the media would have you believe, limited by color, religion, or race.

Democrats - Believe it is the governments job to help and serve the people. Create programs that aid those who are incapable of doing this themselves. This costs money and grows bureaucracy. They too believe in the power of people, but ultimately government will decide the final outcome. What once was a great voice of the people has been taken over by a Progressive agenda (read history). These concepts will destroy our forefathers concept of America.

Reminder: It is Democrat and Republican. Not Democratic and Republican. Democratic is a process, an adjative , not a noun. It misleads and misdirects and is misused daily in the popular media. It implies things and attaches a meaning and concept to the party intentionally.

Edward Said:

How did federalism help the Democratic Party survive after the Civil War?

We Answered:

Democrats eventually retook southern state legislatures and local governments, pushing Republicans out. This enabled them to retain a local footing, eventually leading to a return to national power. (Although the Democrats were never in serious danger of disappearing.)

Extradition is the process whereby states capture criminals and move them to the states in which they committed their crimes. If states refused to extradite, criminals would go free, leading to increased crime and resentment/competition between states.

Joel Said:

Since Obama and the Democratic Party fits the Webster definition of "Statist", why call them "Democrats"?

We Answered:

That's good! These liberals don't even want to call themselves liberals - I know, they're really socialists - "Progressive" is the new term since "Liberal" is looked at negatively!
