Democratic Party Registration
Constance Said:
Can I vote for someone in the democratic party if I put independent on my registration? We Answered:
No, In Florida, you may not vote in the Democratic Party primary if you are registered for any other party.iHere is a summary of the Florida statute that governs who may vote in a Primary election:
" Abstract: 101.021 Elector to vote the primary ballot of the political party in which he or she is registered. --In a primary election a qualified elector is entitled to vote the official primary election ballot of the political party designated in the elector's registration, and no other. It is unlawful for any elector to vote in a primary for any candidate running for nomination from a party other than that in which such elector is registered. "

If Obama goes to the Super Bowl will the Democratic party set up a voters registration booth? We Answered:
If you're not registered to vote you probably aren't rich enough to go to the Super Bowl so that'd be a waste. They'd sign up more voters hanging outside of a liquor store.Aaron Said:
How do I switch from Democratic party to Republican to vote for Dr. Ron Paul in the primaries? We Answered:
The truth is that each state has different rules about this. Some states hold "open primaries" in which anyone can request any ballot (Republican or Democrat) when they come to vote in primaries. Other states hold what I call "semi-open" primaries, where voters registered as Independent get to select which party's candidates they can vote for in primaries. Most states, though, require you to be registered in the party in order to vote in that party's primaries. It seems unfair to me, but that's the way it usually works. But don't worry. You don't have to tell your friends that you're a registered Republican. Just check in at your Voters Registration office, and they're the only ones who need to know.By the way, Kudos on your choice of candidate. I think Ron Paul will be a breath of fresh air.
