As best I know, life begins at conception. And killing is wrong, insensitive, selfish, many things, but not compassionate.

But, for now, I think that people have the right to choose their actions, and live out what those actions bring.

Abortion- Not banned. Federally funded assistance in first two trimesters.
Gay marriage- Split on some parts of it. Most democrats are in favor of gays being allowed to enter into unions but are still split on whether or not to call it 'marriage'. Usually in full favor of marital rights.
The war- Most want to end it ASAP. Some blue dog (more conservative) Democrats want to not set a definite time table however.
Health care- Wants more government control and regulation in the health care system. Regulation on pharmaceutical companies, as well as a public option or government-provided health care program.
Gun Control- Most Democrats, except some Blue dogs, want strict controls and regulations on gun sales, such as background checks and waiting periods. Some more radical ones want to ban them altogether.
Taxation- The Democrats want higher taxes on business and the rich while relieving taxes on the poor and middle class.

sources? Idk about sources but this is coming from my heart. When my boyfriend and I had a pregnancy scare a few weeks ago I immediately wanted to abort. But then he told me if it came out positive he'd race to find a job and brag to all his friends. This made me realize that if I were pregnant with his child it wouldn't be a bad thing and I believed that he should have some say in the termination of OUR pregnancy. I couldn't have been pregnant without him....however the decision would ultimately be mine but that doesn't mean I'd disregard his needs.

Just like in a marriage if the wife wants a boob job she should consult her husband first. But if she has the money the decision is ultimately hers.

They are varied, not every Democrat is pro-choice. But generally this is the agreement: Neither theologists nor biologists nor doctors can come together to decide what age a fetus deserves human rights, so the Supreme Court has decided to leave that up to the individual mother. Most Democrats support the woman's right to get a safe abortion from a qualified doctor. Most also support efforts to reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies through sex education, birth control, and so on, but these measures are also resisted by the supposedly anti-abortionists on the religious right.
