why do conservatives get on here just to bash liberals? We Answered:
If you want to understand the world just find a conservative, listen to him/her talk, then believe the opposite of EVERYTHING they say.Cheryl Said:
what is your opinion on the president's new support for offshore drilling? We Answered:
You make a very good argument on why we off-shore drilling isn't enough, but nothing about why it shouldn't be done at all.Even if the oil only last for few month, it is still better than nothing. I hope we can still agree that very little of something is more than nothing.
Also people say that we won't see any oil till 5,10,20 years from now, but I bet 10 or 20 years in the future we might have wished that we started today. Even if we don't see immediate benefit, we can at least do it so that we might see some pay-off in the future.
Overall, like you said, there is very little oil, and it will have very little impact. There is only so much fossil fuel left and I will bet anything that we will see a dramatic shift away from oil and coal within 50 years, if not, we will be royally screwed. So in the end, offshore drilling will have no impact on renewable development, it will happen regardless. If the US doesn't do it, some other country will.
