If past history is any indicator, they feel sorry for criminals/ over populated prisons should free these poor individuals who are obviously a victim of their upbringing. Scientific Research no matter what should all be paid for by the government instead of the companies that will profit off this research, and taxes are to be raised and spent on any and every social program you can imagine or dream up. This keeps those that are down and out down and dumb, thus creating their socialist government.

If we continue to allow illegal aliens into the country who collect social services (food stamps, unemployment, etc.) and eventually social security then we will no longer have any guaranteed income when we are elderly. We can not continue to support the whole world on our shoulders. We need to take care of this country and our people first.

Dems and Repubs both agree the teen should be taxed. How can I say this? There are millions of people who are taxed without representation. They live outside of the city they work in. They pay income tax to the city in which they work, but they are not allowed to vote in city elections. Right now Columbus,OH is preparing to put a 1/2% income tax increase on the ballot, but many who pay this tax will not allowed to vote yeh or neh.

Since freewill donations to the U.S. government are non-existant, for reasons of a military and infrastructure I'd call them a necessary evil.

I think that the middle to lower class thinks they will get something from Obama. Either a tax rebate or fee job training, something like that.

I also think that they are wrong. They are not poor enough to receive anything from almost any government program, but they will be the first ones to suffer if (when) Obamas business taxes cause job losses hurt U.S. companies.

Some people don't work but still need help such as the disabled and elderly, and some people need temporary help to get on their feet- such as single mothers who are going to college and working full time but still can't afford to feed their children or pay for health care. Thats what welfare is for- temporary relief.

I have been married for 6 years and am currently pregnant with my first child. My husband cheated on me and became violent when I confronted him and I left. Luckily, I have a bachelors degree and a good job and parents that are helping me out. What about women who DON'T have those support systems that I have? Should they have to stay with an abusive man because they can't afford it on their own? Luckily, welfare is there to help them while they go to school and gain job skills to support themselves. In that case, I don't mind paying taxes to help other citizens.

Yes, SOME people do abuse the system, but many more don't.

I remember back in the year 1979-1980 taxes were 78%. I say: Tax them until they eat cake!
