They can do nothing to stop it. As long as the Republicans have the floor, they can keep the filibuster going on as long as they want. I just learned this in my political science class last semester. I just hope that the Senate will be smart enough NOT to pass this disastrous health care bill - it's destructive - NOT CONstructive!!

Oh - one other note: According to Senator Joe Leiberman, the health care bill will be DOA (Dead on Arrival) when it goes to the Senate for voting - it won't pass!! He should know, considering he communicates with other Senators in the Senate, so apparently, from what he's saying from hearing other senator's views on this, it's a dead issue! That's certainly encouraging news to hear!! Like the poster above me said, let's hope it doesn't pass - for the good of the country!

Harry Reid has completely lost his mind.
There is no longer any point in discussing him and to characterize all Democrats based on his outbursts is just not fair. It's like beating up on a retard and calling yourself tough.

There will now be a back-door Democratic Caucus to determine a strategy for distancing themselves from the majority leader. No small task.

If they can't pull it off, they just might loose enough seats for Pelosi to surrender her speakership.

Of course they wouldn't like it. We would see rapid improvement in the country and they would have to give the Democrats and Obama the credit. They want the country to fail so they can blame it on Obama.

Of course they will blame his failures on anyone but him, and they'll try to take credit for any improvements in the economy even though what they've done has been so very harmful. D.W. is right though, we've got to have a great candidate. We'll see how the economy does in the next two years. If some of the very reliable experts are right, it's not going to get better, it's going to get much worse, and that will be very bad news for the Dems. If the market crashes and gas is $5 a gallon, the same thing that happened to Republicans in '08 will happen to the Dems in 2012.

They've got to keep Burris because they made *sses out of themselves by not investigating more thoroughly and letting the guy in. They made a huge deal about not seating him and then, probably because of the Chicago politicians in the White House, they stopped. THEN they realized he paid for his seat and wasn't the squeaky clean guy they all hoped for. Fools.
