That's kind of a tough one.

In essence, there isn't that much difference between the three, except in the area of the war.

Only problem there is, that while I want the troops home if they are just going to be dying in a needless war for which there is no victory; if there is a victory it would at least justify the deaths of those soldiers and establish peace for another country.

The one place where they really differ and they all present arguments that I agree with and cannot decide between the three.

I'm impressed with all three, and they make sense as far as campaign promises. However, I've never seen a politician ever deliver on their promises; and I don't believe these three will be any different.

Overall its a wash for me; I am impressed by all three but not enough for any of the three to win my vote. The other three candidates (Paul, Nader, Barr) don't even register on the map really. Paul has some great ideas but there is no way he'd be able to accomplish what he wants. He doesn't have the right personality to convince anyone to join him; and he sounds kind of whiny. The other two won't do hardly anything.

Your friend has got to be kidding. Your friend thinks republicans don't lose jobs? That is a funny notion. I'm guessing some employees of Lehman that lost jobs may be losing their homes,and perhaps some of them are republicans, to boot.
I guess you can look at a map of red v blue states, and then superimpose the information about foreclosures by state and see what you can conclude, but I doubt it would be in-depth enough to really be accurate or mean much. You would also have to determine what % of each party there is in each state. Would you include those registered? Or independents that voted for Obama be called Dems, and independents that voted for McCain be considered Reps? Gets complicated fast, doesn't it?
There are plenty of democrats who are responsible with their own money, homes, and loans. But, if you want to get appointed in Obama's government, apparently it doesn't hurt if you don't pay your taxes!!!!
