Yes, the differences should be and are irreconcilable. The parties planks and goals are diametrically opposed to each other. I see no hope for bipartisanship.

I've seen good comparison charts- but your not gonna get a straight answer here. They have differences on virtually every "major issue" from immigration to abortion to gun control to the death penalty, economy, war, etc, etc...

Very little in reality. The Republicans like to borrow and spend money, the Democrats tax and spend.

Republicans spent 8 years letting Bush spend money like a drunken sailor in a bar and said little.

At least the Democrats offer a way to pay for their spending.

Also, Democrats are most often pro choice on abortion, and more pro education.

Until quite recently the differences were quite small. Now it seems that the Republican party has skewed well to the right of center. They support the rights of big corporations over the rights of individuals, and always lower taxes for the rich. But aside from that, the big difference is that the Democrats are in charge and running the government, while the Republicans are out of power, have no interest in participating in bipartisan governing, and are actively working to marginalize themselves.?°)

6. We need to stay the course in Iraq
7. Global Warming is a farce. It is at best a theory
8. Cut taxes = more government treasury money
9. Private school vouchers
10. Allow voluntary private Social Security accounts
11. Build a wall on the Mexico border, go after employers who hire illegals and the illegals will leave if they have no work.
12. Environmental regulation has caused most of the high gas prices, along with high gas taxes.

Liberals and most Democrats stand against what I have written.

To correct the inaccuracy of the person above me, Democrats support giving someone the fish; Conservatives support teaching people how to fish for themselves. Once you teach someone how to take care of themselves, they never need a handout again.
