Examples Of Democratic Leaders

Kyle Said:

Can someone name me a hand full of examples of good democratic and autocratic leaders?

We Answered:

No.
Reason: you said "good". None are "good", and none are "good leaders".

Claudia Said:

Though Andrew Jackson was perhaps not a Democrat, he was a democratic leader. How is this true?

We Answered:

Andrew Jackson was a Democrat by the standings at the time. To compare today's understanding or definition of Democrat to that of Jackson's would be difficult.
During Jackson presidential campaign he was refereed to as Jackass Jackson, Jackson enjoyed this comparison and the political cartoon about it later became the Democratic symbol.
Jackson could only be considered a Democrat when comparing the liberal vs conservative views of the contending parties at the time, and following the lineage to the present parties of today. Not by comparing or imposing today's understanding to that of the past.
Jackson strengthened and solidified the Democratic Party during his presidency, without which chances are it may not have survived to today.

Nora Said:

Who were some great leaders who utilized a democratic leadership style?

We Answered:

Well, Lord Montbatten was Eisenhower's boss...

Wars usually brought out the great leaders... Patton, McArthur, Nemitz, Halsey, Yamamoto, Stalin, Churchill, Tito, Mao

Some of the best leaders were not democratic leaders... you can't run a democracy when you are leading men in a war... so your question is flawed.

Irma Said:

Why are the democratic leaders raiding the treasury for their ear marks?

We Answered:

Because that is their motto: "You make it we spend it!" I am sick to death also about hearing about the money spent on the war. Would you have our service men and women over in Iraq without armour, food, ammunition and all their other needs not met? This group, especially Pelosi can only be praised for being traitors to the American public.

Charles Said:

Do you feel US President Bush is a good example of a democratic leader ?

We Answered:

Of course he is! I notice you give no reasons why he has governed in any other fashion...he "is" bound by our Constitution, after all!

Martha Said:

Do you think Bush is a good example of a democratic leader ?

We Answered:

I hate at my core Bush's policies and his smug, disdainful manner both creeps me out and enrages me as a citizen who reads, but I will say YES. I say this because he is an example of buyer's remorse on the part of the voting public.

America elected him in 2004, and those who voted for Bush got what they wanted.

We wanted a leader who holds the same views on Wednesday that he held on Monday, NO MATTER what happened on Tuesday, and we got it. We wanted a folksy, anti-intellectual president willing to stay in an unpopular war, and we definitely got that. In 2006, riding a wave of anti-war and populist sentiment the opposition took control of Congress back. For me at least, it is no large stretch to see this as a push against the Bush administration policies.

Colleen Said:

Does anyone else think the Democratic party leaders are doing a poor job? Examples follow:?

We Answered:

They even let Clinton poision the "dream ticket " senario, this was from Maureen Dowd

In the last few days, as Hillary has deflated and Obama and the Democrats have dashed for daylight, he has been more like his old self, flashing his all-is-right-with-the-world smile on the cover of Time, joshing and charming Democrats and Republicans as he wooed superdelegates on the House floor, taking on James Carville for insulting his manhood.

“James Carville is well known for spouting off his mouth without always knowing what he’s talking about,” he told Terry Moran on “Nightline.”

Obama will never be at his best around Hillary; she drains him of his magical powers. She’s Jane Jinx to him. It’s a similar syndrome to the one Katharine Hepburn’s star athlete and her supercilious fiancé have in “Pat and Mike.”

The fiancé is always belittling Hepburn, so whenever he’s in the stands, her tennis and golf go kerflooey. Finally, her manager, played by Spencer Tracy, asks the fiancé to stay away from big matches, explaining, “You are the wrong jockey for this chick.”

“You know, except when you’re around, we got a very valuable piece of property here,” he says, later adding, “When you’re around, she’s no good, she’s dead, see?”

The best way Obama can punish Hillary is to reward himself. He’s no good around her, see?
