Illinois Democratic Candidates

Kay Said:

Why should I vote for president if I know that all my states electoral votes are going to my candidate?

We Answered:

Other than having your vote counted, there is very little reason to vote in the presidential race in a state that will not be closely contested. However, the presidential race will not be the only race on the ballot. As the current struggles in DC shows, who controls Congress also matters. In addition, despite all the attention given to the federal government, most major decisions are actually made by the state and local governments. Not knowing the makeup of your districts for those other elected positions, I can't say whether or not those races will be close. What I can say is that it is a mistake to believe that the only race that counts is the one for President.

Marion Said:

Why do keep electing Democrats in Illinois, when obviously all of them either fail or are corrupt?

We Answered:

Well Blagojevich picked up some brownie points today by telling Bank of American to get lost because they got bailout money and still did not give companies in Chicago business loans which causes a company to brake the law and shut down a plant in two weeks.
