Right now, I very much doubt it.

The problem lies with the instability of the Labour Party, which must elect a new leader, and perhaps re-invent itself in Opposition away from the New Labour experiment, which may have been appropriate for the Major era, but times have moved on since the banking scandal.

There is no guarantee therefore that whatever is promised by the Labour high command now, would be honoured under new leadership. Nor that there may be teeming resentment in Labour ranks sufficient to uproot a Rainbow coalition with such a tiny majority.

While forming a coalition now with Cameron seems the logical response from Lib Dems following this election, they need to keep an eye on the next one, which could be less than a year away, and explore a partnership with a different breed of Labour politician, such as Jon Cruddas, Ed Miliband and Alan Johnson (forget Balls - he looks much too much like Nick Griffin. or David Miliband, who is altogether far too smarmy), offering them a far more attractive prospect than what is currently on offer.

Actually, part of that is an illusion. Every political party lies and tells people what they want to hear. Because Canada is so much more liberal even the Conservative Party acts liberal because they want to win elections and they have to move to the left to do it.

The reason Canada is more liberal than America is that every country is more liberal than America. America's founding fathers were special people who created a great nation. Unfortunately, I don't know how much longer that will be true.

Yes. They are built on sub groups. Now they have two sub groups who do not have common interests competing for the white house.....
Blacks and Feminists.

If they never catered to sub groups(something I hope the Republican party sticks to) they wouldn't be having this problem. Do any research on an organization in the following categories, and most of them will be liberal leaning:
Black organizations like the NAACP
Hispanic organizations like La Raza or MECHA
Gay organizations like LAMBDA
Feminists organizations like NOW
Right to choice organizations like Planned Parenthood.

all Liberal, and all care about their sub group only.
