While the cuts are going on, no Liberal Democrat MP dare support a vote of No Confidence in the Government, for that would mean almost certain annihilation of their party. The Coalition has an ample working majority at the moment.

So they have until May 2015.

No less that two years before this election, the recession has to have been turned round (or there would be a Labour landslide). The public finances should be in order, and the Chancellor should be able to get pretty close to a balanced budget. So watch the 2013 budget.

Now what happens? The Tories will be pushing for tax cuts, especially as incentives to captains of industry to create new businesses and expand existing ones. The Lib Dems will be pushing to restore public services, getting the infrastructure there so that businesses can concentrate on what they are good at, and not having to contract out everything that makes life bearable or survivable.

If the Tories push too hard for tax cuts, then Labour will either persuade the Liberal Democrats to cross the floor en masse, or they will shame them to oblivion at the polls. If the Lib Dems push too hard for public services, Working Class Tories will jump ship, at the behest of the tabloids, who will cobble up a scandal to remove Ed Miliband, and install a suitably right-wing puppet to lead the Labour Party on a pro-business tax-cutting ticket, possibly under the thumb of Lord Mandelson.

The best that can happen to the Lib Dems is a chaotic shouting match within the Coalition, but somehow the Government manages to stagger on to the election amid rising recriminations and brilliant oratory on both sides of the Coalition. All these noises off will fascinate the media who will ignore Ed Miliband and his party entirely, and the general election will end up a two horse race between those yelling loudest.

God help them then, if the result in 2015 is the same as it was in 2010!

McCain is drafting his proposals, while the Dems are plotting their next smear campaign.

...and whomever wins this game of smear tag, will INSTANTLY turn their junk talk towards McCain and look extremely foolish.

McCain will then act like a gentleman and let the MEDIA attack the Dems FOR HIM, while he stays focused on the country and lays out his plan....

This will seal the fate of the democratic party not just for this election, but for many more to come. THIS WAS THEIR YEAR and its close to being DOOMED... As bad as ANYTHING they say about Bush, they look worse in the eyes of the swing votes right now.

... and the party that controls the swing votes, wins the race.

I would say that Glenn is on to something that really gets Liberals feathers ruffled. Otherwise he would be a non-issue. You will notice he comes with facts, researched, double-checked. Sure he gets a little nutty, but that's what all people that are passionate about what they believe do. Take a look at Al Gore. That guy flips out sometimes!

I do say Liberals because not all Democrats are. I used to be a Democrat before it was hijacked by Liberals, and can't be a Republican because neo-cons hijacked that...
