Yes, they are happy. That is what I like about liberals, they draw the wrong conclusion or a conclusion at all from limited or irrelevant data. Your claiming they are socialist and happy therefore we should be socialist. Maybe we have a different standard, much like one child gets a C on their report card and they are happy with it whereas another would be devastated. So instead of turning our country into a lower standard that you want, go to one of these Happy Countries and let us strive to achieve the A.

EDIT: the_omz ~ I have heard similar things about Japan from people who have lived there. It's a good reminder that while quality of life indicators are valuable, they often don't tell the whole story. For example, Swiss women enjoyed a very high standard of living throughout the 20th century, but did not get the right to vote unto 1971.

By the usual inidicators to measure 'best', the countries you have listed are obviously the 'worst' and 'best', but let's also not forget that for the women who live in those countries, these places are their homes and they no doubt love their while perhaps not liking the very unequal and brutal situations for women in those countries.

For those who decry the fact that a poster chooses to present certain information, you are welcome to post your OWN questions nominating ythe information you think is important. Unfortunately this rarely happens because so many are great armchair critics who prefer to do nothing themselves.

Life would cease as we know it. First many would die in the battles to force you to choose against your will. then many would die fighting those who force others, then many would try to steal the election which would again cause many to die in the uproar and mean while someone would get fed up and nuke everyone.

Obama's plans for tax increases only affect those making around or above 250k. The framing of the comparison to N. Europe skews things. McCain will increase taxes on those making less than that, but not more. The "middle America" that love McCain should also love their new taxes.

I used to work with someone from Denmark, and he did love his country, and consistent happiness was his description. He couldn't wait to return. He was also one of the hardest working people I have ever met.

Other than war torn countries, then Papau New Guinea would definitely make the list. Murder, rape, and robbery very common against tourists. Colombia, you realy need to be wise there because of high rate of kidnappings and robberies.
