Well, I would be happy with the Libertarian party....they would actually have a leg to stand on and present good ideas. While I don't agree with them on all issues, they are far more appealing to the majority of Americans than is the GOP in its present form.

I remember reading a book "How the Right is wrong, and the Left doesn't get it."

Dems are deluded by human hubris given the current crop many are anti-God and yet contradictory in they want to accept all (except those of the western faith).. The tripe about helping those less fortunate is a communist doctrine and not a Christian one. The left as contradictory in the "turn the other cheek stuff" they treat child molestors better then they treat law abiding gun owners.

"Give a man a fish he eats for a day, teach the man to fish and he eats for a lifetime." The dems tend to create sick dependencies on the systems of wealth re-distribution, created by man rather then truly assisting a person in decreasing that dependency.. Fact is people tend to be lazy, If given a handout rather then a hand up many are content with sitting on the asses and watching American Idol.

The driving force of the Republican party (at this time) is the fundies.. Which I have no use for either. The doctrinal crap they try to shove down the RNC platform for moral legislation goes against some core values of the founding fathers.

We are entitled to believe as we choose, not as Pat Robertson or Fat Boy Falwell tell us.

I believe that in Jefferson's letters he indicated that the government should not be steered by religion as it was from the 4th to the 17th century. Principles of law came out of the laws of Hammurabi, Judiaic and British Common law.

I'd say the RNC and DNC both need a high colonic ( a very potent enema) I changed my party affialiation to Libertarian after the recent asinine spending spree of Bush and the harbingers of deficit in the DNC and RNC sitting in Congress.

If the RNC or DNC adopt fiscal restraint again perhaps I will reconsider my vote. Until then I will be hard pressed to give one damn vote to either party..

I've been to local Democratic meet-the-candidates events and informal local Democratic meetings, and they were friendly at the informal gatherings, and when I talked to anyone at the candidate gathering, they were helpful, and the candidates were glad to answer tons of questions. I've been to large gatherings as well, but since I didn't know anyone other than the people I came with, I didn't expect people to come up to me and personally welcome me! I'd do it again, but I'm an extrovert and enjoy talking with people.
