Maryland Democratic Party

Viola Said:

Where in Maryland are the Democratic victory parties tonight?

We Answered:

They will be at the Republican headquarters congratulating the Republuicans.

Kay Said:

Why the Double standard with Democrats and Republicans?

We Answered:

It's not so much their double standards, but rather, it's their lack of having any of them at all.

Helen Said:

Why are Democratic candidates denying any government involvement in the housing crisis?

We Answered:

In General Democrats love government and think that government is the ANSWER to all problems. Conservatives generally want government to get out of the way.

Clearly the housing bubble that collapsed was largely caused by the governments interference in the market by strong arming banks and using Fannie/Freddie to encourage making loans to people that should have never qualified. There is no doubt that this was the main cause and Democrats have their fingerprints all over that.

Lauren Said:

Has the Democratic Party really been good for gays? ?

We Answered:

I agree with your analysis. I find that the very pro-Democrat party rhetoric from the LGBT camp has no basis in fact. Democrats as a whole appear to be no friendlier or less friendlier to LGBT causes then the Republicans are.

Massachusetts recognizes gay marriage not because its Democrat controlled legislature passed a law and not because its heavily Democrat laden citizens support gay marriage (they don't), but because Massachusetts' Supreme Judicial Court made it so.

Another case in point, I live in a state where the legislature is 98% controlled by Democrats - the state does not officially recognize gay marriage and there isn't any sign that they are planning on changing that. Why? - The majority of the state's predominantly Democrat party affiliated citizens don't support it.

The problem is that everyone tries to stick one size fits all labels on everyone - Republican equates with the Moral Majority/religious fanatics. Democrat equates with socialism. Not all Republicans are religious right fanatics just as not all Democrats are communist/socialist fanatics.

Look at the LGBT community, we all don't have the same perspectives on the issues. I'm not gay. I'm not lesbian. I'm transgendered. I don't feel accepted by either political party nor do I feel accepted by the gay and lesbian factions of the LGBT community.

Even within the different factions of the lump of people assigned to the LGBT community label, there are very different perspectives. Some seem to seek the ability to get along in the world and not be threatened or discriminated against, while others seem to seek societal revolution.

In the end, political parties seem to only care about staying in power to line their own pork barrels.
